Digital Communications Rules - Texting, Email, Facebook
Mutt — Tue, 12/09/2008 - 00:52
Infamous text of the night: “I think I fell in love with a girl who puked on the way home. Over and out. Charles.”
There are some rules or guidelines that we have developed for dealing with the opposite sex that developed this weekend where 15 Facebook messages were sent in two days. It was alright because the rules were implemented and followed. They are simple yet effective rules to ensure you don’t look desperate or too interested in a girl.
The Rules
1.If you are texting or messaging a girl you must wait at least the same amount of time or longer in between contact as it took her to respond. For instance if she’s responds one day later you have to wait one day before texting back. You can always go longer but not shorter.
2. This rule also holds true for the length of your response. Yours cannot be longer in length then hers. Being equal is alright but you can’t be over the word limit.
3. You must wait til she responds before sending another message.
4. You can set up dates through texting, email, Facebook etc. but you must talk to them at least once before taking her out on a date.
5. Always end with a question so you can ensure a reply.
If you are Facebook messaging the girl, the main goal is to take your relationship to the next level. Texting. Why? Because it is a more immediate response, could lead to a phone call and spending too much time on Facebook can turn you into a creeper.
I’m sure everyone has their own rules on this issue. Please enlighten if you can.

I agree with the "don't text back exactly 45 seconds after she writes you" because that would make anyone run away. Also commenting on pictures exactly 45 seconds after they are posted is creepy, for further notice.
BUT too much texting/facebooking/msn'ing is creeeeeepy
soooo yea.

Nightstalker (not verified) — Fri, 12/12/2008 - 02:52The worst is if your phone saves your outgoing texts after a night of drunk texting. You review them the next day while hungover and all you can do is say "f@ck my life".

Mutt — Fri, 12/12/2008 - 14:11I will definitely be doing a post later on in regards to drunk texting/emailing etc. That is another monster all together. I have had to delete a few numbers off my phone....as recently as yesterday. Dear god.
